Since some of you partake, I thought you'd appreciate this email from my father.

To All,
If you want to see what I have been up to recently, you can go to these pictures that I posted onto the net. They are of a geocaching team excursion that was supposed to go out under the bridge and get a cache. As the pic's depict, I was the only one to venture out without any safety gear, to show them it could be done. It was after our treks into the canyons below that only one other person ventured out to do the bridge cache and there were no camera's taking pictures of that venture. He walked 2/3's the way out and then the last 1/3, crawled out on his but to the cache. Then crawled all the way back. But he did it, and I got to give him a at-a-boy for doing it.

I had already found these other caches in the canyons so I only went along for the fun of it. You won't see any pic's of me at any of the caches for this reason. I just stayed down at the creek while the others had all the fun.

I hope they don't take to long to see if you have a dial up connection.

Just received an email from my father that might be of interest to a few of you...

They had the "Great American Road Trip of Historic Route 66" through AAA and along the way they hid geocaches. For those who don't have any idea about geocaches, one gets the coordinates of the caches from the web site and uses a GPS unit to seek the caches out. I have been involved with geocaching for almost two months now. Anyway, I have been following Route 66 trek and the day that the cache in Cajon Pass was listed, it took me a mere 40 minutes to print out the cache information from the website, load the coordinates into my GPS receiver, put on my boots, and race to the destination to only find that someone else had already found the cache and he got there 10 minutes before I did. I had to drive through city traffic and stop lights, etc. He was from Victorville and only had to drive the freeway to get there. So I got the second to find braggin' rights.

I sent my log information into AAA along with a self-timer picture. The log is at:
http://www.aaa-calif.com/travel/promo/campaign/caches/cache-19.asp
and my picture is on :
http://www.aaa-calif.com/travel/promo/campaign/r66_end.asp
I am standing in front of my Heep and it will enlarge if you click on it. They not only edited my log but the picture as well. But that's okay with me. Not everyday my picture shows up on the Internet.

Losel 2 is the handle I use for geocaching by the way.

Specifically, his picture is here. Woo-hoo! Go Dad!
