MS Walk
As you may or may not know, my mother has multiple sclerosis. Through the years, I have seen her health degrade. I would like to help make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Multiple sclerosis affects lives every moment of every year. At any time, someone with MS may suddenly be unable to stand up, hug their child or see a friend across the room.

For yet another year, I'll be participating in the National MS Society's annual MS Walk in Redlands on April 14 to help raise funds for research and local programs. I will also be volunteering at the Upland MS Walk the very next day. It's a small thing for me to do for people who face the devastating and relentless effects of MS every day. Step by step, I hope to bring the National MS Society closer to a cure.

Will you help by sponsoring me in this year's MS Walk? With your generous support, we can end the devastating effects of MS, sooner rather than later.

Keeping with what we started in 2004 and have done every year since, [info]carl_and_jen will be matching, dollar for dollar, any donations made. Unlike previous years, we are *NOT* limiting our donations at all. Last year, with your generous donations, we matched $600. This year, we are looking at bumping that number to $750.

Please click here to donate to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The walk I’m raising money for is April 14, so I’d appreciate donations for this before then. Thank you in advance for your time.

MS Walk
Went to a wedding today. w00t. This is a friend who had three previous engagements. This was his fourth, and the first to result in a wedding. Although, I found out the history of the first one which I hadn't known before.  Aparently, back in the day this friend (we'll call him George) who was engaged to someone at his work (we'll called her Jane). Jane was a friend of George's sister, who we'll call Emily. Great, fine. Wedding invites went out, and all was good. Right up until Emily found out that Jane was cheating on George with someone else at work. Emily told Jane that she had to tell George ... or she would. A week went by and nothing. So, Emily talked to her brother George, who couldn't believe what he was hearing. So George went to Jane's house, where he caught Jane in bed with the other guy from the office. Ouch.

Tomorrow is the Upland MS Walk, to which we volunteer. After that, I clean up, relax, and pack. Yes I said pack. Where am I going? Well, I'm going to be attending a conference. It's going to be tough, but it's in Vegas. And I will have to struggle with staying at a rather posh locale which has a book rate of almost $400 a might while I'm there. I guess I'll have to make the best of it. *sigh* Anyway, I'll likely not be able to keep up with all of your shenanigans as much this upcoming week, so you are hereby forewarned.

...and what the heck is up with "____ is the new black"?

He did it! You might remember a post in January where I posted a satellite picture of my house, with a dare for anyone to find it based on that picture. [info]riversidedimple said he'd take that challenge. While I did have to give him one clue (which side of the major street I was on), he was actually able to find the house, even without my car being out front! Congrats to you, sir. Sorry I wasn't home at the time to properly congratulate you, but I had prearranged plans to attend a bachelor party...

Related note - You might remember that I am doing the MS Walk in Redlands this Saturday, and that I'm matching every donation received. Well, the totals just keep going up and up. As of the time of this writing, you and others from my work have donated a total of $580! Note that $50 was donated in cash and not reflected on the site, but will also be matched.

Not related to anything above - I had to stay home from work today. While that isn't a good thing, it allowed me a chance to watch GSN's first day of old programming. Specifically, I'm watching Blockbusters, and was surprised to find it was the Rafferty version. You know, I love the Cullen version, and still watch it on weekends, but this... *sigh* At it's heart, it's still the same show, but this Bill gets on my nerves, and the technology seems out of place to me. It's a little unnerving to not see a family pair as well.

WWE Raw is officially going to USA in a three year deal, with two yearly Saturday late night Raw specials on NBC and a spanish language Raw on Telemundo. On the heels of this, TNA Wrestling is rumoured to be approaching Spike TV to fill in the void.

[info]wtf posted link that [info]jumbach, [info]jelly_doughnut, and [info]lifewithmikey will probably appreciate: Baby Got Book. Warning: large Quicktime video there, so don't do it if on dialup.

This will make perfect sense to exactly one of you - Meet Olaf

Congrats to [info]gaby723 on her job! (okay, that one is a day or two late)

Congrats again to [info]driley1 for his Employee of the Month!

[info]lambertman, at least you don't owe your soul to the company store.

Non-breaking news: [info]zarchasmpgmr is still alive.

BTW, thanks to the generous support of y'all as well as people at my work, I'm going to be paying out $290 so far in matching donations for the MS Walk. A special thanks to [info]jiggery_pokery for spreading the word of this to his journal as well. If you missed it the first time, there's still time to donate.

Oh, friends of [info]jumbach, don't forget his request for 1 pm Pacific today!

I don't know how to put this nicely, so I'll be blunt - if you are currently unemployed, then read the next thing on your friends list because your money is no good here.
