I said Korgo, not Torgo!

Fighting the WORM_KORGO.I at work, so updates from me have been sparse. Come to find out, our vendor only pushed the critical Microsoft update for two weeks, so any machine that didn't get it then (on vacation, new machine, etc.) didn't get the patch at all. Then we had over 600 machines infected... ugh.

On a lark earlier this week, I Googled "borgclub" as one word, and not two.. Why am I Googling that to begin with? Read the history of my name. Anyway, with this blankless search, I found out there was a Yahoops! Group for my old *Prodigy days. While it's paifully obviously that all of us have gotten older, it's good to note that they are still there in a fairly limited fashion. Because of the virus, I haven't been able to really read any of the posts, but this weekend ... *grin*.

Along those same lines, please welcome jelly_doughnut from the ol' Borg Club.

While on the same lark, I Googled an old junior high and high school friend of mine that I have been trying to get a hold of for a while. I thikn I might have finally found her... in Minnesota. For a person who hated the cold so much, I'm still not sure how she ended up there (if that's her.) I shot off an email to a listed account and am waiting a response.

Wow. Good thing I wasn't a member--I'd be Citrusus Heightsus. :-)

My first foray into USENET, which lasted from 1996 until 2000, was mostly in the transportation-related newsgroups.

We had a member who used her first name, which was Marian.

*wait for it*

Torgo, torgo, torgo.

It finally hit me where this came from, I think. Manos, Hands of Fate, right?

Long live MST3K!
