More infrequent updates ahead!

I have a class in San diego starting tomorrow, so it's likely that you will not have much communication from me through this upcoming week. You have been warned...

Yeah, so I have to give up my holiday to get this training, and I had to also get my jury duty postponed for this class.

This class better be worth it. It's for SMS 2003 for those that care.

EDIT: Sandra Dee and Hunter S. Thompson are dead.

Have a good class! *snicker*

And yeah, what an odd combo to have died today, huh?

Jury duty
Here in Ventura County our courts have a "one day or one trial" policy, meaning any potential juror who is not assigned to a courtroom by the end of the day has fulfilled one's obligation for a year. Does the court system in your area have such a policy?

I've been summoned twice before (October 2001 and June 2003) but never assigned to a case.

Re: Jury duty
Normally, yes. However, since I *was* eligible for a case and made it to the courtroom, and it was my timing that required me not to be on that jury, they are simply postponing me. I assume I'll get another summons in the mail some other day, or maybe not.

Darn. JD postponed.

If you haven't already rescheduled, try to say you're available the week of a holiday. No one likes to start court cases on short weeks.

It's worked for me twice. Never even got called in to report.

The funny part is that, having never served on a jury before, I'd like to do this one day. I had no problem with this particular case except for the length of time that I would have had to be there.

Of course, after I've been on a jury, my opinion might be slightly (read: drastically) different.
