Well, that's irritating

I wanted to look at Apple's iTunes store to see how their collection of audiobooks is. I'm pondering getting a cheap iPod or other MP3 device to listen to audiobooks while on the train to and from work. Anyway, you can't look at the iTunes collections without having the software installed. I know it's free, but I don't load software unless I need it, and I don't need iTunes yet and I don't want to be hogtied into this.

Just not the "über-friendly" perspecitve that Apple is supposed to have.

Guess I'll launch a virtual machine to load the software...

The first, biggest one I'm looking for is "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson. Unabridged. In general, I was just looking to browse too...

If you fancy a field trip, and you're in the neighbourhood, drop by an Apple Store and check it out on one of their machines.

I use them for free internet when I'm in the Village or SF...handy things, Apple Stores.
