It's Patch Tuesday! *grrr*

It's days like today that I dispise. One of the things I primarily deal with is security issues related to desktops at my company. Part of that is dealing with the monthly Microsoft security bulletins, which regularly come out on the second Tuesday of the month. Because of some efforts I put forth at work, I do the initial work of evaluating each security bulletin, determining impacts to both desktops and servers (mind you, I'm a *desktop* person...), determining what our actions will be for desktops and servers, and documenting all of this.

Normally, this isn't a big deal. There are usually a handful of security bulletins that get published about 10 am local time, and I can rip through them easily before lunch. Today, however, will not be so easy. Today, there are TWELVE frackin' security bulletins. To put this in context, for the months of January through May, there were a total of twenty security bulletins, one of which was released out of cycle. So that's an average of four a month.

Needless to say, the average will be going up after today. *mutter mumble*

The icon today -- "Who do you serve and who do you trust?" -- seems tragicly appropriate and wins out over the Shadow icon.
