MS Walk 2006: Annual donation request

As you may or may not know, my mother has MS. Through the years, I have seen her health degrade. I would like to help make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Multiple sclerosis affects lives every moment of every year. At any time, someone with MS may suddenly be unable to stand up, hug their child or see a friend across the room.

This year, I'll be participating in the National MS Society's annual MS Walk in Upland to help raise funds for research and local programs. I will also be volunteering at the Upland walk. It's a small thing for me to do for people who face the devastating and relentless effects of MS every day. Step by step, I hope to bring the National MS Society closer to a cure.

Will you help by sponsoring me in this year's MS Walk? With your generous support, we can end the devastating effects of MS, sooner rather than later.

Keeping with what we started in 2004 and continued in 2005, Carl and Jen Knecht will be matching, dollar for dollar, any donations made. Unlike previous times, we are *NOT* limiting our donations at all. Last year, with your generous donations, we matched $600. This year, we are looking at bumping that number to $750.

Thank you in advance for your time.

I literally was JUST sitting down to ask you about that.

I will not solicit via LJ. I don't want to interfere with you. That's a promise. (Besides, since I work for a different nonprofit, I have to be careful about fundraising events for other organizations. That is a serious no-no.)

That being said, Dione and I will be participating in the walk in Sparks in May.

May. Wow. I remember seeing the people doing the MS Walk while we were honeymooning at Cape Cod in May 2003 and thinking "They're doing this awfully late..."
