New window?

So I was reading suggestions, and there are a number of people in this post who complained about links that force open a new window, especially with the prevalance of tabbed browsers these days. I myself have been making a conscience effort of coding my links to open in new windows because, well, I like it. If you aren't sure what I'm talking about, it's the difference between these links to open Google --
No new window/tab
New window/tab

And this has me wondering....
Poll #780206 Do you like having a new window/tab coded for you on links?

Do you like having links force open a new window or tab?

Yeah, force the new window or tab for me
No, and I really wish people would stop doing this!
Eh. I couldn't care one way or the other.

I prefer having the new window opened. However, I must point out that neither of the links you provided are doing so. :)

Fixed that. Sorry.

I normally middle-click windows anyway, which opens them in a new tab. What I don't like is the use of javascript to open a new window, which typically means that middle-click doesn't work.

On that I totally agree!

I can't believe that people wouldn't want links to open in new tabs/windows. Then again, I like everything as fast as possible and the time that a browser like IE6 would take to reload LiveGerbil would be unacceptable to me.

Then again, I use Opera, so I'll stop blathering on.

I almost always right click -> open in a new tab anyway. However, sometimes I want certain links to open in the same window, and sometimes I want them to open in a new window. It really all depends on what's going on, where I am, what I'm doing, etc.. But yeah. I don't care that much.
