Medical. Well, this year has been full of medical issues, starting off with pink eye in January that lasted a while. I sprained my ankle severly in April, and again in December (minor, not blogged). I've been sick periodically throughout the year, and that has generally sucked. My weight has generally stayed the same, which is to say that I'm still fat at about 250 pounds.

Professional. This has been a dozy of a year for me professionally, starting with implementing SMS for our desktop environment at work. Had to do the politically correct thing and let our oursourcer basically do the technical work, but that ended up being okay. The guy we have is fairly sharp, and is great to work with. With SMS in place, we've starting rolling out Office 2003 to the company, which is a huge win. We've never been able to do something that big in our company. We also took copious advantage of the software and hardware inventory that SMS gives us out of the box, and management now understands why we have been fighting to get SMS in place for three years now. Hindsight and all... Anyway, I also applied for a lead poisition at work in September, and was notified in December that I got it. This is going to be an interesting year upcoming, being a technical person and a lead.

Personal. Plugging right along. This year, Jen and I went to San Diego for a low key wedding trip. Didn't even really do our regular Vegas runs, but I'm hoping that will start up again here in January. I didn't get to play much poker this year, but did find an appreciation for blackjack.

Comics. I expanded my comic book collection quite a bit, thanks to eBay mostly. Bought a lot of the old Justice League/JL International/JL Europe and early Flash vol 3 (Wally West) books from one buyer, and some more modern Flash vol 3 and Wonder Woman books from someone else. Dropped a lot of titles, and added more. Found Invincible, and spread the love to a few other people. Because of me, Benjon, bodams_locker and Jen are all reading this excellent series. You should too, if you like comics. Really. The first hardcover is only $24.12 at amazon.com, and contains a year's worth of comics. What are you waiting for?

Other geeky. Bought a 2 TB NAS for home on December. Yeah, 2 TB. It's gonna hold a lot of music files. =) I'm in the process now of figuring out the best format for those. While popular, MP3 isn't a lossless format. I really want a lossless format, but yet something usable when I get a media player. Suggestions are welcomed. Apart from that, I got a Nintendo DS for Christmas and have been playing the heck out of that. I also ran into a spat of bad issues with my domain's email provider, and have moved over to Google apps for your domain. More on that later. I found my way back to the Game Show Forum, and scared a moderator or two by my sudden appearance. =)

Yeah, that's about it. Oh, and I didn't lose my cell phone.

The Beloved got a Nintendo DS and has been playing the heck out of hers too. What games did you get?

So far, just Brain Age and Clubhouse Games. I have Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros. and Uno / Skip-Bo / Uno Freefall on order.

I think I need a DS icon...

I have The first two hardcover Invincible books, trade paperbacks #6 and #7, and individual books #36 and #37. It kind sucks though, since I read pretty much three years worth of story in a very short period of time, and now have to wait for these stories MONTHLY. *sigh*
