So we did the taxes yesterday. In preparation for this, of course, is the collection and culling of paperwork. Amongst the paperwork that needs to be collected is the auto registration paperwork, since a portion of that is deductable. Found the paperwork for Jen's car just fine. Could not find my car's paperwork at all. I went through my personal finance software to see when I made the payment, and could only find the 2005 charge. Asked our tax preparer about last year's taxes, and there was no abnormality.

So it appears that my car is currently not licensed with the state of California. I don't recall getting the auto registration, and I don't have the tags. Currently, my car has the 2006 tag on it. Guess who will be taking time off and his wife's car to the DMV office on Tuesday?

Stoopid stoopid stoopid...

Who's your insurance carrier?
Maybe they dropped you by accident. haha
I remember last year my current carrier sent a letter saying they weren't renewing me.. gave no explanation (I had no accidents or anything so there was no real reason although I didn't like them anyway) and I nearly missed that letter because it came at an off time (a few months before I was expecting to get the 'let's renew' letter) and nearly got thrown away.
