CBS upfront

*New programs in CAPS (except CSI:NY and NCIS)

*Note that the links to to CBS's Flash video of the show, since they decided in their infinite wisdom not to have separate pages for their shows. Bitter? Yes, yes I am.

8:00 p.m. "How I Met Your Mother" - ...dairy!
8:30 p.m. "THE BIG BANG THEORY" - Two nerds have a hot babe move in next door. Hilarity *yawn* ensues.

9:30 p.m. "Rules of engagement"
10:00 p.m. "CSI: Miami"

8:00 p.m. "NCIS"
9:00 p.m. "The Unit"
10:00 p.m. "CANE" - Jimmy Smits plays a sanitized version of Tony Soprano.

8:00 p.m. "KID NATION" - "40 kids, 1 town, no adults" The kids, aged 8.5 to 15, are in five teams who compete to be in certain social classes in the city -- laborers, elite, etc. No one is voted off, but kids can leave. Can the kids succeed where adults failed?

10:00 p.m. "Numb3rs"

8:00 p.m. "Crimetime: Saturday "
10:00 p.m. "48 Hours: Mystery"

7:00 p.m. "60 Minutes"
8:00 p.m. "VIVA LAUGHLIN" (no link available) - From Zap2It, "Based on the BBC format "Viva Blackpool," a man's dream of opening a casino in Laughlin, Nevada is compromised by his family, his rivals and his involvement in a murder investigation. Musical numbers unexpectedly ensue."
9:00 p.m. "Cold Case"
10:00 p.m. "Shark"

Midseason shows: SWINGTOWN - The 70's are back, baby. and this drama about a family who moves into a neighborhood that shares everything - recipes, sugar, each other - is gonna be far out, man!, The Amazing Race, The New Adventures of Old Christine

Canceled shows: '3 LBS', 'Armed & Famous', 'The Class', 'Close to Home', 'Jericho', 'The King of Queens', 'Rock Star', 'Smith', 'Waterfront'

My take: Jericho is gone, which sucks. HIMYM gets season #3. The new shows... eh. Big Bang Theory looks inane. Sad to say this, since I don't like reality shows much, but Kid Nation looks intriguing.

Tomorrow: The CW, Fox.

One race next year in Midseason. Hopefully just doing one per year will make it exciting for me again.

I'm with you on the Kid Nation thing. Not a fan of reality TV, for the most part, but maybe I'll check it out anyway. Heh, reminds me of one of my favorite sci-fi novels as a kid. XD

Kinda sounds like Showtime's "Jeremiah".

Huh, I wonder if the original Jeremiah comic book was inspired by The Girl Who Owned A City at all. It seems probable, since TGWOAC was published in 1975, and Jeremiah in 1979. Anyway, I never watched that show. Was it any good?
