I currently weight 261 pounds. I "should be" at 183 pounds ideally. That's 78 pounds. *gulp* That's a lot. But I'm going to do this, and I'm doing to be reasonable about this. I need a reasonable goal. So I will lose that weight... by the end of 2009. That's 729 days for 78 pounds. We're talking .75 pounds a week. If I can't do that, well, then I suck.
I will be trying all kinds of funky things to keep track and keep motivated. Kaiser Permanente has a Balance program that is free to members, which I just signed up for. I am trying out traineo.com to see if the geek factor will help me. My site, in case you want to see it. And there, you will see that I went out for a 30 minute walk tonight. There is a real chance that I will posting regular updates here about this. And I need to figure out some benchmarks and rewards for getting there. My first benchmark is to still be actively trying to lose weight three weeks from today (1/23/2008). The intent is, if still doing this, it will become a habit and not a fad.
