What kind of day has it been

Don't forget to ask Jen a question, about me or anything. She's still fretting over how to answer one of these questions, and I keep prodding her towards her original, hilarious, yet revealing answer.

It's been a while since I've done a purity test. Since solcita mentioned this one in her journal, I decided to try one out again...

My results: You answered "yes" to 109 of 500 questions, making you 78.2% sexually pure (21.8% sexually corrupt); that is, you are 78.2% pure in the sex domain.

I was paged awake at 2:20 am this morning. Trend Micro, one of our anti-virus vendors, issued a yellow alert at that time, which reminds me to give this PSA: Keep your anti-vrius program up to date. Anyway, our systems do an auto-update, so I wasn't too worried about getting up and doing anything about this. The kicker is that I couldn't go back to sleep. I tossed and turned until 4 am, whence I decided to get up and go to work. I've been here since 5:50 am, and need to stay until at least 3:30 pm.

I made coffee, and have already had two cups. I rarely drink coffee, and have had little sleep. All of this leads to... CAFFEINATED CARL! Woo-hoo!!!

... man am I going to crash hard later...

Wow! That IS early. I would be quite upset if I had to come in that early. But then again, look how thin the traffic is at that time. (I assume you drove, and didn't take the choo-choo.)

It's a beautiful morning...
Actually, I did take the first train in at 4:46 am. Have I mentioned how much I like the Metrolink system when it can take you to where you need to be? :)

Re: It's a beautiful morning...
Yep, during the commute times it's pretty good. But midday, it requires the patience of Job. :-)

Since we won't need the car for the time we're in Anaheim, we are considering taking the MetroLink train from Redlands (well, San Berdoo) to Union Station, then AmCrap down to Anaheim for our trip to Dizzyland this April. But the problem is, it's a half mile walk from the Big A Parking Lot (where the station is) to Katella, then the closest the OCTA bus will get us to the park is a 1/2 mile walk. With three days of luggage to bring, that won't happen. Why, oh, why, is there no bus stop adjacent to the park, or even there at Katella and Harbor?

Well, that's not your problem. it just sucks to drive 80 mi unnecessarily, but I guess this is "Welcome to life in Southern California." What else sucks: At the moment, the Sac Kings (#2) would be playing the LA Lakers (#7) in the first round of the playoffs. We'll be in ENEMY TERRITORY watching the game! Egads!

Live from RatCo Village!
Why not take theInland Empire / Orange County line? (Link opens to PDF file of schedule)

I mean, if you *want* to go to Union Station, fine, but why when you don't have to?

Kobe is on a tear, and that's taking over focus of the game. That's all I hear about is Kobe's streak, and oh yeah, they won. *sigh* As long as they are winning, I guess...

Re: Live from RatCo Village!
Why, indeed? I do know about that line, but by stopping at L.A. Union Station, I can go over to the Patsouras Transit Center and refill my collection of LACMTA bus/rail schedules. The last time I "raided the rack" over there was March 2001; I'm sure many routes have changed since then. I'll take a few minutes to grab the new scheds, pack them into my suitcase, then we're off. It costs a few $$ more that way, but so what? DeDe knows that that's part of the cost of traveling with a transit geek. :-)

And yes, I could get them online, but that's missing the point. :-) Besides, LACMTA is not very good about mailing scheds; I seldom get the ones I actually order.

I suppose it would also defeat the purpose to mention that I am in LA Union Station at least three days a week and can send them in the US Mail to you... =) I understand geekdom and can appreciate it. Maybe we'll see each other on the train, eh?

Damn it, I have three questions in mind ya know.

If I ask #3 on my list, will you promise I'll live to see March 1? :-D

What, suddenly you think I control your fate? When'd this happen, and how long is this power good for?

Now whether you'll live past March 1, I might have something to say something about that... =)
