This is funny in a fairly wrong sort of way. It makes just as much fun as people thinking that all Canadians say "Eh" at the end of a sentence, or that all Californians say "dude".

Speaking of dudes, anyone heard from jaydlewis?

Just saw on the local news' entertainment report a blurb about "Who Wants to be Governor of California? The Debating Game", which is a long frackin' title! Aparently, a Kennedy will be hosting (yes, that would be her), and an Arnold will be a contestant. Well... actually, he played an Arnold on TV. Gary Coleman will be a contestant, three others yet to be named, and ... Mary Carey. She's a funny one... made some comments that she thought being on the show will help (ahem) expose the public how fun the state would be if she ran things, especially if she were to jump up and down, which she promptly did to the many laughs of the press in attendance.

For those who don't know who Mary Carey is, she is a candidate for governor of California. Her real job, however, is a porn star adult film actress. Her safe-for-work web site for this effort can be found here. Yes, I had to look this up. She's actually got a gubernatorial platform up on the site now. And, you know, item #7 is actually very very interesting...

Life lately, btw, has been fairly bad. Between a virus infection that we should have been protected from three months ago, one new email bourne virus, and one heckuva bad virus spread through port 135, I haven't had a chance to breathe! One good thing is that management has realized what I've been saying for a while now -- we need to be applying patches to our desktops or we're hosed. Of course, now I've got to develop the plan. I'm thinking SUS for an interim solution, and SMS for long term.

Oh, and for those of you that caught the Sports Night reference in this post, good on ya. =)

Did you ever hear how Canada got its name?

Some of the early settlers couldn't agree on a name. So, they decided to settle it by writing all the letters of the alphabet on sheets of paper, putting them into a hat, and pulling letters out at random until they had the name of the new country. So they did: "C, eh . . . N, eh . . . D, eh . . . "

(Being one quarter Canadian myself, eh, I think it's funny . . .)

I caught it, and I just wanted to ask, although it may be a bit random...do you know of anywhere there is a "soundtrack" listing for all the music that ran in the background of the show. I've been working on just finding tracks here and there....but I wish there was a real soundtrack...anyway, let me know if you'd know where to find that, or where to find the original music, like the "slow day" music... anyway...great to know there are other fans out there...

Sorry if this ends up duplicating -- LJ is dointg weird things right now...

I would love to able to help, but I got nothing. The closest would be Music by... W.G. Snuffy Walden which a similar but not exact version of the slow day music if I recall correctly. Regardless, it's a very cool CD to have.
